The UK celebrates critical workers

At 8pm on Thursday March 26th, the UK took to the streets with pots and pans to applaud and make noise for the NHS frontline workers keeping us safe during the coronavirus pandemic.

In addition to this, digital screens and 40 landmarks and buildings all across the country were lit up in blue lights as a tribute to our healthcare workers.

Some locations included Albert Hall, Wembley Stadium, Intu Victoria Centre shopping centre in Nottingham, the Piccadilly Lights in London and Williamson Park in Lancaster.

??HELP OUR NHS WORKERS???????????? Do you have a Rental property currently vacant??? Do you have an AirBnB property with no bookings for the next couple of months??? We would like to help our NHS workers, many who are getting relocated to the South West Acute Hospital from around the country, by providing another source of accommodation in the short term. ?1. Help Doctors and Nurses relocating.?????????? ?2. Provide a safe place for Doctors & Nurses who do not wish to put their families at risk by returning to their homes.?????????? ?3. Provide accommodation closer to the hospital to limit the long commutes after long shifts saving lives. We would like to be a link between potential properties available and pass this information on to our contacts in the NHS. How to Help: 1. Send us a private message 2. Email info@montgomeryfinlay.com If you are interested in helping please list your name, contact number, property address and we will be in contact asap to discuss. 3. Call Nicky 07835194814 Please like, share, tag...whatever you can to spread the word and we will generate a list to pass on to NHS representatives. #NHS #Stayathomesaveslives #clapforNHS

On the same day, Ocean Outdoor also ran a campaign praising all frontline critical workers such as teachers, delivery workers, firemen and police.

This was broadcast on London’s Piccadilly Lights every hour in the run up to the Light it Blue broadcast and featured messages of thanks.

I am so proud and so grateful to come from a country that offers medical care to anyone that needs it. As well as the Piccadilly Lights, Ocean broadcast the celebration on its screens across 11 other UK cities.

Tim Bleakley, chief executive officer of Ocean Outdoor, says: “These are extraordinary times and people are doing incredibly difficult jobs to keep our people safe, cared for and our cities and the country running as best as is safely possible.

“This is our way of drawing attention to their selfless work and show our gratitude. It’s times like these that a thank you goes a long way.”
