Midwich provides children’s hospice with tech

Midwich and partner, Snelling Business Systems have provided Norfolk children’s hospice, The Nook, with over £30,000 in discounts for technology.

In 2014, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) called on local businesses to help support the transformation of children’s hospices in Norfolk and North Suffolk through the launch of a £10m appeal.

To do this, the charity launched the Nook Local Business Network where local businesses could pledge to support over a three-to-five-year period.

With EACH being Midwich’s longest standing charity partner, the firm was keen to help and alongside Snelling, the firms called on others in the industry to also lend their support. So far over 50 businesses have contributed to the appeal.

We worked with one of our integration partners, Snelling Business Systems, to ensure the products were seamlessly built and installed into the design of the Nook building

Stuart Mizon, commercial director at Midwich Group, comments: “We firstly approached some of the world’s leading technology brands, such as LG, NEC, Sennheiser, Chief, AMX, JBL and Barco, to lend their support – we managed to source over 60 audio visual products for the hospice installation.

“We then worked with one of our integration partners, Snelling Business Systems, to ensure the products were seamlessly built and installed into the design of the Nook building. They also ensured EACH’s staff understood the technology through a series of product training sessions – it was a real team effort.”

The Nook, which opened in November 2019, has benefitted from technology such as interactive screens with integrated audio products for each meeting space, video conference facilities, and TVs in every bedroom.
