Port of Zeebrugge sets sails with Philips

Bruges-based Port of Zeebrugge recently worked with AV integration specialist Ocular and digital display solutions provider Philips Professional Display Solutions to create and install a gigantic videowall.

The new application comprises 25 Philips X-line 55” display (BDL5588XH), all of which were installed in portrait mode at the port’s cruise terminal in Belgium.

The solution allows the port to maximise engagement through a display that can be used for marketing, emergency footage and custom content.

This welcome centre is a port of entry for many visitors to Belgium, and we’re happy to give such an informative and positive first impression

Denis Maly, director technical service at Maatschappij van Brugse Zeehaven NV, the company that manages and operates the Port of Zeebrugge, comments: “This welcome centre is a port of entry for many visitors to Belgium, and we’re happy to give such an informative and positive first impression.”

Simon Denys, partner and chief operating officer at Ocular, adds: “Our engineers made different propositions based on LED technology and LCD technology. We presented the propositions with all pros and cons to the client. Taken the budget into account, the 25 Philips PDS displays were the best technological solution.”

“The slim design and high brightness of the Philips X-Line was the perfect choice for creating a state-of the-art Videowall. Thanks to the support of the Philips team we were able to deliver the wall in time and on budget.”
