DOOH turns UK’s pubs into galleries

New Clear Channel partnership will see the UK’s pub and bar sector receive the largest network of digital-out-of-home (DOOH) to date, whilst allowing the venues to double up as art galleries.

Partnering with Stonegate Pub Company, the DOOH provider will install a total of 150 specially designed screens to pubs and bars, bringing the company’s total network of screens in its Socialite network to 650.

The screens will also be used to display artwork by young local artists as part of a partnership with The Prince’s Trust. The charity works to help young people grow in confidence and develop their skills so that they can achieve their goals.

By providing a platform for the artists to display their work, the screens will enable them to reach a wider audience in an environment comprising a large proportion of their peers.

Warren Fiveash, head of marketing partnerships at The Princes Trust adds: “We’re proud to be supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs, including artists who’ve turned their talent into a business.

Partnering with Clear Channel allows us to showcase new young artists on a massive, impactful scale across the country

“Partnering with Clear Channel allows us to showcase new young artists on a massive, impactful scale across the country. Our goal is to support young people in achieving incredible things, and it’s great to be able to get people talking in pubs and bars across the country using Socialite screens, as well as drawing attention to the charity and the work we do.”

As a result of the additional rollout, Clear Channel expects the screens to produce higher dwell times and creative opportunities for companies to engage with their consumers.

Richard Bon, joint managing director at Clear Channel describes pubs and bars as being “at the heart of our communities” in the UK, as well as “the country’s number one social destination”.

Because of this, Bon is confident that advertisers will benefit from the ability to reach young and sociable customers in a relaxed environment.
