Immersive 3D effects revolutionise signs

Crystal Display Systems has launched a new 3D transparent LCD display called the CDS 3DP.

CDS’ ClearVue3DP technology is fitted with bright LCD lighting which has matched polarisers to the back of the LCD so they work as a pair and create a 3D effect. Customers can choose a landscape or portrait screen depending on their needs.

Crystal Display Systems say that the digital signage solution will help consumers to connect with a brand through creating a memorable, immersive experience.

The high brightness LCD will act as a ‘mood screen’ which basic video can be projected onto. The video must be predominantly white to avoid risk of refraction. The effect is similar to a hologram and provides customers with a means to portray their products realistically.

Ordinarily, transparent LCD screens need a strong backlight which can pose issues for clients during the design process due to space issues and capabilities.

Placing different object sizes between the two screens can also be experimented with

With this new solution the transparent LCD displays can be backlighted using a high brightness LCD at the rear of the screen which according to Crystal Display Systems, eradicates these issues.

Previously Crystal Display’s customers would need to buy the two panels and two driver kits separately. Now the LCD panel has an AD control board built into the aluminium frame.

The 3DP also includes inputs for the two panels so content can be changed where necessary. It is even possible for customers to place products in between the two screens for an eye-catching display.

Placing different object sizes between the two screens can also be experimented with as it is down to the customer how much space to create in the middle of the panels.
