Giant banner reveals new Channel 4 HQ

Channel 4 announced its impending arrival in Leeds by covering the building it is due to occupy with a large banner.

The broadcasting company revealed its new national HQ as the Magestic building in the city of Leeds by covering most of its front with the eye-catching black and blue banner.

With the building currently under renovation and due to open in 2020, the large signage acts as the perfect promotional façade.

The banner has a humorous tone and is in line with Channel 4’s recent ‘Complaints Welcome’ campaign which saw the company quote complaints it had received about its programmes.

More staff are joining us all the time, so the Channel 4 presence is growing each week and we’ve been given a fantastic welcome by everyone in Leeds and Yorkshire

Quoting a genuine viewer complaint, the banner reads: ‘Didn’t think Channel 4 knew there was life outside the M25’. It also features the company complaints email and additional text which reads: ‘Channel 4 is now in Leeds. National HQ opens here 2020’.

Sinead Rocks, managing director for Nations and Regions at Channel 4, comments: “It’s great to be in Leeds. More staff are joining us all the time, so the Channel 4 presence is growing each week and we’ve been given a fantastic welcome by everyone in Leeds and Yorkshire.”

In addition to the relocation of its national HQ, Channel 4 announced in March that it will be opening Creative Hubs in Bristol and Glasgow.
