The 2019 wrap king is crowned

The winner of the Roland Speed Wrap Challenge 2019 has been announced.

After years of trying his hand against some of the world’s best vehicle wrappers, Joey-Lee Erasmus has been crowned the winner of this year’s competition.

The challenge was sponsored by platinum sponsor Roland, vinyl sponsors Grafiwrap (distributed by Maizey Plastics) and show sponsors Sign Africa and FESPA Africa.

Taking place from September 11th to the 13th, hopefuls competed in daily challenges at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Participants raced against the clock to wrap a vehicle door, with the top three going on to wrap a vehicle door using a special triple layer vinyl.

Erasmus has won a trip to compete at the World Wrap Masters Final 2020 at the Global Print Expo 2020 in Madrid in March and was awarded double prize money for exceeding 45 points

Erasmus’ win was no easy task with overall third place winner Vaughn Repsold from Lidicious Helmet Wraps coming first on the second day, and overall second place winner Gareth James from Wrap Formula coming in first place on the third day.

Despite the tough competition, Erasmus placed first on day one, and second on both days two and three, demonstrating consistent skills.

Erasmus has won a trip to compete at the World Wrap Masters Final 2020 at the Global Print Expo 2020 in Madrid in March and was awarded double prize money for exceeding 45 points. He comments: “I am overwhelmed. I have been trying to win for the last four years.”
