Midwich launches new CSR programme

AV specialist Midwich has launched its new corporate social responsibility programme which will see the company raise money for charities, support local communities and look after the environment.

Managing director Mark Lowe presented the new programme to the audio-visual distributor’s 250-strong team at its head quarters in Diss, Norfolk.

The firm has curated an internal corporate social responsibility team comprising eight staff members which will focus on people, environment, community and charity throughout the business.

In line with the programme, Midwich has pledged to give its employees the opportunity to volunteer during working hours and is removing the use of non-recyclable cups at its head office by December 2019.

Throughout 2019 and 2020, the firm will also support local community projects and its in-house charity committee has set a goal of raising between £40,000 to £50,000 for the mental health charity, Mind.

We have a responsibility to ensure we look after the world we live in – we still have a very long way to go but this is a positive start and we are committed to ensuring a long-term sustainable approach

Commenting on the launch of the company’s corporate social responsibility commitments, Lowe says: “We take great pride in listening to what’s important to our people and wider stakeholders. With this in mind, we’re delighted to launch our CSR programme and show how committed Midwich is to the community we operate in, to reduce the negative impact we have on the environment and by supporting local worthwhile charitable initiatives that are important to our staff.
