Pyramid Display acquires plastics firm

Pyramid Display Materials Group has announced the acquisition of a sheet plastic supplier that predominantly serves the display, sign and screen printing industries.

POS Plastics, based in Wakefield, Yorkshire, has been supplying plastics to the market since 2002. The firm stocks a range of sheet plastics from European manufacturers including 3A’s Composites, Staufen and Klockner, and self-adhesives from JAC.

As a result of the sale, POS Plastics will relocate to join Pyramid’s facilities in Castleford where it will continue trading, but under the Pyramid umbrella of companies.

“POS Plastics have a great history in the industry and when we first spoke to POS about the possibility of them joining our group both parties realised what a good fit it would be,” says Dennis Morgan, managing director of Pyramid.

He continues: “The Pyramid Group would gain a presence in the industrial plastics market with POS Plastics benefiting from the support of a larger company together with being able to expand their product range to their customer base.

The acquisition reinforces our strategy of diversifying the group into areas aligned to our core retail display market

"We can now give POS Plastics’ customers the option to buy a much larger range of digital roll and flat sheet products.”

“The acquisition reinforces our strategy of diversifying the group into areas aligned to our core retail display market but giving us specialist expertise in what we class as the growth area of industrial plastics.”

James Shannon, who will remain with POS Plastics as its sales manager, comments on the acquisition: “This is great news for POS.

"Having the option to sell an enhanced range of products to our customer base will ensure the business continues to grow for many years to come and with the backing of Pyramid in the form of marketing and logistics support I’m confident we can become an integral part of the group.”
