Widening the large-format market

Canon has launched a new range of wide-format printers designed to open up the market to new customers.

The entry-level imagePROGRAF large-format five-colour 24in TA-20 and 36in TA-30 printers have been designed with small businesses and first-time large-format print users in mind.

The printers can be used to produce posters and technical documents as well as outdoor signage due to the ability to print on water-resistant media using Canon’s TD pigment ink, removing the need for lamination.

With new users in mind, the printers include free poster creation software, PosterArtist Lite, making the design and printing of professional posters straightforward and achievable. The TA series is also compact and quiet meaning the machines can fit easily into small office spaces.

In order to evolve in the competitive large-format inkjet market, it is important for companies to develop productive, user-friendly solutions intended to meet customer and market demands

Shinichi Yoshida, executive vice president and general manager of Canon USA, says: “In order to evolve in the competitive large-format inkjet market, it is important for companies to develop productive, user-friendly solutions intended to meet customer and market demands.

“With the new TA Series, users now have access to a printer complete with a full set of ink and software suite for a streamlined customer experience that is ready right out of the box.”

Designed to save money and time, the printers can print a 24x36in document or poster in 27 seconds using Fast (Q5) mode, and a cost-efficient economy print mode allows for 40% less ink usage than standard mode.
