Getting Great Britain moving

An interactive out-of-home (OOH) campaign has been launched to encourage the public to be more active.

With new studies finding that almost 70,000 deaths could’ve been prevented in 2016 if people moved more, the effects of sitting for long periods of time are being widely recognised.

Official Team GB partners, Toyota GB and Ocean Outdoor, are using the run-up to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics to encourage the public to get active.

The ‘I Am Team GB’ campaign is kicking off with a day of free fitness and fun activities at Westfield Square, London this bank holiday weekend (Saturday, August 24th).

Leading ‘The Nation’s Biggest Sports Day’, Olympic gold medallist Laura Kenny will be joined by Team GB athletes, “local community heroes” and volunteers who will oversee activities on a large stage and grassed arena at the shopping location.

Toyota GB has installed an interactive wall where people can go and take a selfie to show support for Team GB. The images will be printed out and used to create a giant mosaic featuring Kenny, who is described as “Britain’s most successful female Olympian”.

Commenting on the campaign, Kevin Henry, Ocean head of content and sponsorship, says: “This is the first in a series of activations we have planned in collaboration with Team GB, Toyota and other partners in the run up to Tokyo 2020.

“Toyota is all about driving sustained growth in physical activity inspired by Team GB – and Ocean’s full motion screens and experiential spaces are central to the delivery of that message.”
