This year’s SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference (NLSC) saw students take part in two competitions, with the categories being: Graphics Imaging-Sublimation and Screen Printing Technology.
During the competition, 103 students completed a series of stations designed to test skill sets in alignment with standard program curriculums.
David Gross, president of Condé Systems and a judge, explains that equipping the youth for success should be a top priority. Gross says: “SkillsUSA is leading the way. I am honoured to be a part of this competition and look forward to motivating these participants to continue on the path of excellence.”

In support of the event, SGIA co-ordinated and judged the competitions, as well as providing $75,000 (£60,000) in prizes.
James Ortolani, account manager of PolyOne Corporation was on the judging panel and helped to establish the SkillsUSA Screen Printing Technology Competition. Ortonali explains that the goal for the competitions is to motivate and support future leaders and ensure these children have mentors and people who care.
