London airport gets display upgrade

Following the opening of its new £160m terminal, London Luton Airport needed bright, clear displays throughout to inform and direct customers at key points in their journey through the terminal.

With support from integration partner SPC Group, London Luton Airport selected LED displays manufacturer Absen to complete the job.

“We recognised that advertising and information often compete for the same location, therefore combining these into a single, bespoke mega flight information display solution best served the requirements,” says Matt Mullen, passenger environment manager at London Luton Airport.

Absen has successfully installed LED displays in some of the world’s major airports and as a result, SPC Group chose to deploy the Absen N4 displays, designed specifically for airport environments.

Stand-out features such as front installation and service, an ultra-slim panel, advanced monitoring, image quality, and the uniformity and consistency of the image have all been designed with the modern airport environment in mind.

A 7x4 N4 display is stationed at the entrance to the baggage hall and hosts advertising for onward travel providers, such as coaches and trains. A second N4 display in an 11x4 configuration is installed at the entrance to the international departures lounge and rotates through flight departure information.

Further displays are installed at the north end of the international departures lounge, and at landside arrivals.
