Supplier chosen for new window fabric

Supplier of architectural and building related films Architextural has been announced as the chosen UK supplier of new self-adhesive window fabric brand Squid, which is owned by Belgian company Lampe Textiles.

Architextural, which is part of the William Smith Group 1832, is already the supplier of Cover Styl films and will now supply Squid’s self-adhesive, transparent fabric within its portfolio.

The product is designed to enable users to see out during the day, but largely restricts people outside from being able to look in.

The new range of Squid films is the first transparent fabric that also acts as a self-adhesive curtain and a non-PVC alternative to traditional decorative window films.

Architextural describes the product as “an innovative window solution” which is quick and easy to install and can be applied directly onto glass surfaces. It is suitable for any type and shape of window and sticks to glass indefinitely but can be removed without leaving glue residue.

The fabric can deflect between 25% to 36% of the sun’s energy depending on the colour, reducing solar heat gain during summer months. It is also ideal for digital printing as it can be used with UV and eco-solvent printers.

“It’s incredibly exciting to be able to announce the addition of Squid to our portfolio,” says Lindsay Appleton, marketing manager of Architextural. “This unique textile window solution is a fantastic alternative to traditional PVC or polyester window films.

“It presents substantial commercial possibilities. With the ability to print designs onto the fabric, as well as changing the ambience of any interior space, the possibilities are truly limitless with this product,” Appleton concludes.
