Ultra-high resolution for tvONE

tvONE has unveiled a new range of active optical cables, giving users the ability to offer ultra-high resolution imaging over long distances.

The DisplayPort 1.4 (MG-AOC-88x) and HDMI 2.0 (MG-AOC-66x) are now both available to purchase from the company, which specialises in video and multimedia processing equipment.

The plug-and-play active optical cables provide video and audio extension with no compression or latency up to 328ft, without the need for external power.

The HDMI 2.0 supports up to 4K60 4:4:4, while the DisplayPort 1.4 supports up to 8K60 4:4:4. The new cables are supplied as either non-plenum and plenum versions in 10 different lengths, ranging from 10m to 100m.

Mark Armon, global product manager at tvONE, says: “Extending extremely high resolutions, such as 8K, is a major challenge, and to be able to use a simple, non-powered cable is the easiest solution.”
