Canon launches Océ Arizona series

Canon UK has launched the new Océ Arizona 1300 flatbed printer series, aimed at mid-volume sign and display graphics companies.

The Arizona 1300 printers are the first Océ flatbed products to feature LED curing options, allowing users to print from standby mode without waiting for UV lamps to warm up.

Wayne Barlow, head of Graphics and Communications Business Groups at Canon UK, comments: “Our flatbed customers have consistently faced the same two challenges – the need to boost productivity and to diversify their applications portfolio to open up new business opportunities. The launch of the new Océ Arizona 1300 Series increases their ability to do more, smarter, faster and cost effectively, with a single printer.”

Canon says the series is suited for companies producing up to 15,000m² per year, with the printers offering speeds of up to 52.8m² per hour. The 1300 series is comprised of six models, with the choice of three GT models with a flatbed area of 1.25m x 2.5m, or three of the larger XT models with a flatbed area of 2.5m x 3.08m.

… there is still scope to develop holistic solutions that improve total production efficiency by streamlining every aspect of production

“Over more than 11 years at the forefront of flatbed development, our R&D teams have been committed to introducing innovations to the market that improve productivity, quality, media versatility and total cost of ownership, as well as enhancing end-to-end process automation,” adds Barlow.

He continues: “This latest product series demonstrates that there is still scope to develop holistic solutions that improve total production efficiency by streamlining every aspect of production, from file preparation to printing, curing and maintenance.”

The LED curing technology allows print-service-providers (PSPs) to work with a wider range of applications and challenging media such as canvas, wood, tile and glass. The LED-UV inks used for the new models are UL GREENGUARD Gold certified making them suitable for use in sensitive indoor applications.

For sign-makers and printers looking to differentiate their offerings, the Océ Arizona series can be used with the firm’s Touchstone textured printing solution, for producing enhanced prints with a textured effect.

Manufactured at the facility in Poing, Germany, the Océ Arizona series will be commercially available from January 2019.
