Philips Display Solutions now compatible with Sky

Philips Professional Display Solutions has announced that its range of TVs and digital signage for the hospitality sector is now fully compatible with the Sky Bright Box.

The upgrade in technology allows hotels and venues in the hospitality industry to deliver HD entertainment across venues using one centralised HD system.

The development allows users to choose from 96 premium satellite channels, including Sky channels, with seven channels in HD as standard. Clients can still incorporate Freeview and other channels using the existing infrastructure.

Commenting on the collaboration with Sky, Kendra Ingram, professional TV business manager for Philips Professional Display Solutions, says: “We work to provide more than simple displays. We aim to provide high quality end user experiences.

“Working with Sky delivers an added element to our offering, complementing our CMND display management system with a truly personalised experience for hotel guests.”

it’s important to be able to provide hoteliers with the flexibility they need to deliver a range of sport, entertainment and movies to exceed guest expectations

According to Bronwyn Groves, director of partnerships at Sky, statistics published by Research Now showed that 84% of guests believe that the TV service in a hotel room should be as good as they have at home. In addition to this, seven out of ten guests said it was important to have both Sky TV and a large screen HD TV in their hotel room.

She adds: “We’re delighted that Philips’ Display Solutions are now fully compatible with the Sky Bright Box. This means that more hoteliers can give their customers a home-from-home experience when staying in their hotels.

“Guests continue to demand and expect more from in-room TV viewing. So, it’s important for us to be able to provide hoteliers with the flexibility they need to deliver a range of sport, entertainment and movies to exceed guest expectations.”
