LED screens bring Kennedy Space Center to life

Digital signage specialist RMG was tasked with bringing the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex experience to life with customised creative video content.

Using the firm’s MAX LED technology, RMG produced a series of video stories, viewed through custom LED displays on the exterior of several attractions at the centre.

Based in Florida, the Kennedy Space Center has been the primary launch centre for human spaceflight for NASA since 1968. The visitor centre, located on the same site, houses a range of exhibits, displays and attractions revolving around the history and future of spaceflight. It attracts around 1.7m visitors each year.

“It is an extreme honour to be working with Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. The opportunity to create content that is powerfully displayed on our MAX LED displays is truly the definition of solution architecture. There is nothing to compare with walking around the visitor complex and seeing the smiling faces of guests from around the world enjoying the stories created,” says Jerry Rosen, RMG’s chief revenue officer.

The new displays feature on the outside of attractions to promote them, including Astronaut Training Experience Center, Mars Rover Concept Vehicle, and the newly-renovated Space Shop. The 15,372 sq ft shop features an interactive shopping experience, guests are surrounded by LED screens that immerse them in the world space exploration. Selfie stations invite visitors to take photos of themselves as astronauts, that appear on the LED screens.

“RMG has been a tremendous partner. Its creativity, state-of-the-art technology and commitment to our guest experience continues to earn them project after project. It’s a strong business relationship,” comments Therrin Protze, chief operating officer of Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.
