Wrapping up on Avery Dennison competition

Avery Dennison Graphics Solutions has announced the winner of its “King of the Wrap World” competition, at a crowning ceremony at the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Show in Las Vegas.

MetroWrapz from Florida was crowned the “King of the Wrap World” for its Mission Flyer 2.0 vehicle wrap. Using Avery Dennison Supreme Wrapping Film with digital overlaminates and Conform Chrome, the firm created a vehicle wrap inspired by the Air Force One aircraft.

The car, a 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat, belongs to Air Force Technical Sergeant Romeo Peart. The design was based on the WWII-era P51 Mustang aircrafts used by the Tuskegee Airmen.

“The attention to detail on this project has raised the bar of any vehicle wrap we have ever created,” said Bruno Dede, president of MetroWrapz. “Chrome film with a matte lamination set this one of a kind wrap apart, and Avery Dennison film helped us stay true to the Air Force plane that inspired this project.”

The full car wrap included doors, door jambs, under the hood, inside the engine compartment and under the trunk lid.

The continental finalists in the competition were Funkeefish from the UK, WrapStyle Korea of South Korea and Fingerprint Signs of Australia.

“MetroWrapz earned the global wrap king title against an extremely competitive field, and we’re proud to have the shop represent the incredible installers that use our films,” says Oliver Guenther, senior director marketing and channel strategy, Graphics Solutions Europe. “With new products just released, including Supreme Protection Film and new colours of Supreme Wrapping Film, there is even more people can accomplish with our products.”
