WPAPS installs first Epson Sure Color SC-F9300

Colourbyte has delivered the first Sure Color SC-F9300 dye-sublimation printer to WPAPS, which offers personalised products such as phone and laptop cases.

The SC-F9300 is the latest addition to an already extensive list of Epson equipment, as WPAPS house a SC F9200 model, seven Sure Color SC-P6000 models, and over 20 Epson Stylus 7890s.

Tom Withers, WPAPS chief executive officer, says: “Every day we are producing 400 to 1,000 products off the new Sure Color SC-F9200 which is running 16 hours a day. Our core business is built around the personalised one-off product and we produce and distribute direct to the end user on behalf of a wide range of businesses worldwide.

“We like the chassis and drying system on the new dye-sublimation model and, although it seems a mere detail, the light inside is really helpful in allowing us to check the print quality and the print head.”

I love dye-sublimation because it doesn’t print onto but into the fabric and you get really vibrant, high quality results that will last and are safety tested

The Sure Color SC-F9300 was launched at the end of 2017, with a focus on high-volume printing for clothing, textiles, and soft signage, providing a great opportunity for printers and sign-makers to diversify into other markets.

“I love dye-sublimation because it doesn’t print onto but into the fabric and you get really vibrant, high quality results that will last and are safety tested,” says Withers, continuing: “We are just launching print on demand leggings and we will use this technology to produce work onto a lycra/ polyester mix material.”

WPAPS are looking to print on and produce polyester-based products such as cushions, pillows, and towels, an easy task for the SC-F9300. This latest addition to the Sure Color range has Epson Precision Dot technology for dye-sublimation, with the ability to handle thin and thick substrates without compromising quality.
