A slice of success for power couple

They are being dubbed the new ‘power couple’ of the UK’s graphic arts industry, and 2017 certainly has been a successful year for the new partnership between CMYUK and Esko.

The two firms met at the newly-remodelled demonstration and training facility in Shrewsbury to celebrate the successful first year of their alliance and shared a slice of a cake modelled after an ESKO Kongsberg flatbed cutter.
Nick Reed, Esko business manager for CMYUK, comments on the support the UK ESKO team had given him during the last eight months: “It’s been a real whirlwind. The new and exciting products we’ve been able to offer our customers – not just the amazing Kongsberg digital cutters, but the range of complimentary software products – has helped us to automate workflows better than we could have imagined.”

A key strategic point for the partnership came at The Print Show 2017, where CMYUK where the first of Esko partners to unveil its brand new Kongsberg system, with the first of these selling to exhibition stand and textile-based graphics specialist Your Print Partner.

It’s not just about having a best in class cutting table, it’s about how we can add value for our customers with an unrivalled fully-integrated and automated software solution

Reed also revealed that 2018 will bring further changes. January sees the launch of CMYUK’s new demonstration centre and showroom based in Shrewsbury, which will be home to a full range of Kongsberg cutters allowing visitors to experience complete workflow solutions, from automated file preparation, to print and cutting.

James Mason, sales manager at Esko in the UK, comments on the partnership with CMYUK: “I have been thrilled to see how quickly the guys at CMYUK have got up to speed with the Kongsberg range; they have understood the Esko philosophy from day one.

“It’s not just about having a best in class cutting table, it’s about how we can add value for our customers with an unrivalled fully-integrated and automated software solution. The sell-out numbers for this initial period are nothing short of outstanding.”
