Mimaki announces laminating solution

Mimaki has expanded its portfolio with the addition of the LA Series, a heat-assisted laminator, which can operate with temperatures up to 60°C to improve film adhesion.

Accompanying the new range of laminators are films designed to work better with UV-curable inks. The films have been created to limit the effects of films over air bubbles caused by the instant curing of UV inks.

Ronald Van den Broek of Mimaki Europe, comments: “Mimaki continues to bring innovative solutions to market that make it faster, easier, and more cost-effective for sign and display graphics and other businesses to produce outstanding full-colour sign and display graphics. This laminating solution is another example of that innovation, and when paired with Mimaki’s new UCJV series of print-and-cut solutions, provides a turnkey offering that will help companies drive more profit to their bottom lines.”

The LA Series can laminate at speeds of up to 7.5m per minute which improves production, and the new Mimaki Vision Laminate 310 (gloss) film is targeted at maintaining the colour of the print. John de la Roche of Hybrid Services, the exclusive UK and Ireland distributor for Mimaki equipment, comments: “LA Series laminators with Mimaki Vision Laminate film will be the ideal companions to a UCJV Series LED UV printer/cutter.

“UCJV prints are instantly dry meaning they can immediately be finished on a LA Series laminator. This complete, harmonised solution ensures reliable performance and quality output for those times when a protective overlaminate is required.”
