Sign failure tarnishes Tory conference

Prime Minister Theresa May was recently at the forefront of unlucky mishaps and signage disasters at the Conservative conference in Manchester.

May had to deal with a sore throat, as well as a stunt from comedian Lee Nelson, where he handed May a fake P45 form from Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson. May had to stop regularly due to coughing fits, and was handed a lozenge by Chancellor Philip Hammond.

Not only that, but the letters mounted to the wall decided to make a bid for freedom. The slogan originally read, ‘Building a country that works for everyone’ but by the end of the event said, ‘Buiding a cntry tha orks’.

The signage failure provided Britain’s top daily newspapers with front page stories, some arguing that the conference was a farce, whilst others praised May for continuing.

During the conference, May announced that more money will be given to the building of social housing, as well as a cap on energy prices. Let us hope these plans last longer than the signage did.
