Jetrix and Inktec inspire rally win

A stop by the German police, 27 points, and 2,700 miles of racing was enough for one British rally team and their Jetrix sponsored Mazda (inspired to look like the Lancia Integrale) to win the Le Mans Afterparty Tour—an endurance rally competition with multiple tasks.

The car, which was driven by the team called Maztini, was wrapped by Jetrix using Inktec inks, with a specific target of looking like the traditional 1980s and 90s rally car.

Adam Drury, a member of Maztini, comments: “It was quite a trip and the 32-year-old car didn’t even break down once. After weather testing the sponsor logos, which had been printed by Jetrix, for a period of time, the ink hadn’t deteriorated and that is why we were impressed and wanted to use them. Many thanks to Inktec for the support, the car looked tremendous and it made many people notice it.”

Not only did the road trip span across ten days, but the team experienced some extraordinary locations, including mountains, and one of the most famous race tracks in the world—the Nürburgring. The first pit stop included the Le Mans 24hr race in France, where it would all begin.

The challenges included: cheapest car; best decoration; best miles per gallon escaping France; top speed percentage compared to that stated by the manufacturer; race from Austria to the Mazda Museum in Munich; most people in car; furthest hitchhiker; most breakdowns; and a tug of war.

Out of the nine challenges, Maztini won four, came joint first in one, and came second in two games to win the overall tour by 27 points.

Five different teams took part in the Afterparty tour, and all vehicles had to be under £250 with a valid MOT. One team were left in Germany thanks to a snapped CAM belt.
