Giant LED displays a winner for stadium

Daktronics has partnered up with Hampden Park, Scotland’s national stadium in Glasgow, and the Scottish FA, in a project that saw the company design, manufacture, and install two new LED video displays.

Installation of the displays was completed this spring and they are now entertaining and informing fans on game days.

“The screens are simply awesome, but also an integral part of making the Hampden match day a more interactive experience for fans,” says Scottish FA chief executive, Stewart Regan.

He adds: “They also create new advertisement and engagement opportunities for participating clubs, the Scottish FA itself and our sponsors and partners.”

The displays each feature 13HD pixel layouts and measure 5.49m high by 19.75m wide, with one display installed at each end of the stadium.

Andrew Niven, the Scottish FA’s UEFA EURO 2020 project leader, adds: “The displays really enhance spectator experience as they add terrific colour and vibrancy to the stadium.”

The displays are capable of variable content zoning, either showing one large image or divided into multiple zones.
