Flexseal have turned to Signs Express in Sheffield for help with the livery for their out of this world trip across Europe in the Keyline Rally.

The Barnsley-based team are raising money for Prostate Cancer UK, which will benefit men that suffer from the illness, as well as bringing awareness to prevent it.

The theme for this year’s Keyline Rally is sci-fi. Last year, the cars were decorated to resemble superheroes.

Around 30 cars have taken part in the fundraiser in previous years, and the event hope to emulate this, this year. The rally begins in Santander in Spain, on June 28th, 2017. The cars will then embark on a journey beyond the final frontier (through the Pyrenees, on the way to France.)

Signs Express used their facilities to create the graphics, and applied them with no charge for the Flexseal team. The car will be sponsored by the Signs Express, which can be seen next to various images, including the NASA symbol, Prostate Cancer UK and Keyline logo.

Carol Morris, company director for Signs Express in Sheffield, commented that the firm chose to sponsor the car after they were approached by Flexseal’s marketing director. She says: “When I thought about it, I thought, I think we’ll sponsor it, because its good, its local, and we try and do what we can. It came out very well.”

The most prominent aspect of the car are the alien bodies and heads, which aim to make the vehicle look like it is occupied by extra-terrestrial beings.

Morris comments that it was Felxseal’s marketing director who came up with the idea of the aliens, and that it was a simple process to finish the car.

She says: “We found the alien image, and we printed it and cut it. We sat down with James, one of our designers.”
Morris continues: “I’m hoping that they are going to do very well. For awareness [for Prostate Cancer UK] I hope they do very well.”
