Third time’s a charm for SDPS

Following its third Onset wide-format investment in four years, French-based wide-format printer SDPS Poinçon says it has now found a marked improvement in performance with the Onset X2 from Fujifilm.

Based in Saint Denis sur Sarthon, Normandy, the firm has already invested in an Onset S40 platform in 2012 and again in 2014, finally adding the Onset X wide-format inkjet press in April 2016.

SDPS president, Régis Broussin, comments: “We had tremendous confidence in the Onset range and in the combination of Inca Digital hardware and Fujifilm technology that it represents.

“We wanted to boost our productivity still further and we chose to invest in the Onset X2 because it was the best value for money we could find. In fact, we’re confident that it is simply the best machine in its class on the market.

“We replaced our original Onset S40 platform with the new X2 model in April 2016, and it has delivered a significant productivity gain, which has enabled us to substantially reduce customer turnaround times. We are running our two Onset presses in two to three shifts per day, depending on demand.”

Richard Charrier, technical director at SDPS, is equally convinced in the quality of the investment: “The Onset X2 has also enabled us to upgrade the quality of the print, and thus the products we manufacture and sell. This has allowed us to move into markets that we could not operate in before—working for customers who demand this exceptionally high level of quality.”
