EDP honours Agfa’s UV LED inks

Agfa Graphics has been celebrating after its UV LED inks were recognised at the recent European Digital Press Association (EDP) Awards.

The EDP reviews products introduced in Europe, evaluating quality, value to the user, support and service, handing out awards to the solutions it ranks highest.

Agfa’s UV LED inks are used across some of the key technologies available from the manufacturer, including the Jeti Tauro H2500 LED, Anapurna H3200i LED, Jeti Ceres RTR3200 LED and Jeti Mira LED—all of which featured on the show floor at FESPA 2017 in Hamburg, Germany.

In a statement reflecting on its win, Agfa says: “Agfa Graphics is proud to have been rewarded with this quality and innovation mark for its UV LED inks, now used in the entire assortment of Anapurna and Jeti wide-format printers and in many industrial printing applications.

“Agfa’s specially-formulated UV LED inks can print on a wide variety of rigid and flexible substrates guaranteeing outstanding print quality and perfect physical characteristics such as adhesion.

“Agfa also markets UV LED inks for single-pass applications, available for inkjet system integrators active in marking and coding, digital label printing, packaging and object decoration.”

The manufacturer went on to say that printing systems equipped with UV LED lamps offer user a number of “unique technical advantages” that in turn result in “important economical benefits”, including a wider media scope, lower power consumption and better system uptime.

Agfa was one of hundreds of companies that exhibited at FESPA 2017 last week, and organisers are soon expected to announce that the event attracted a record number of visitors.

The FESPA 2018 global print expo will take place from May 15th to 18th at the Messe Berlin in Germany.
