Agfa gets hands on at Apogee conference

Agfa Graphics has hailed its recent Apogee User Conference as a huge success, after the two-day event attracting widespread praise from those that were in attendance.

More than 60 people gathered at the Agfa manufacturing site in Leeds last month to find out more about how to make the most of Agfa Apogee software. Those in attendance hailed from as far afield as Scotland and the South West of England.

Richard Trotter of Adare SEC, one of the attendees, comments: “The information and guidance gained from the excellent Agfa team was most useful, the event was a great opportunity to meet up with people from other companies in similar positions with the same daily problems, and solutions, to see how they use the Agfa products.”

Day one of the event featured a series of presentations that gave an overview of current goings-on in the pre-press world, covering key subject such as ‘Apogee in the Cloud’ and ‘Real World’ Web-to-Print scenarios.

Attendees were also able to learn more about brand protection using the Arziro software suite of products, as well as a view real life JDF integration case studies.

As a special treat for those in attendance, Agfa organised a tip to the Black Sheep Brewery in Masham on the evening of the first day, where customers enjoyed a tour of the brewery and a meal, with beer tasting thrown in for good measure.

On the second day of the conference, Agfa Apogee customers were treated to a series of ‘Hands On’ sessions that the manufacturer had designed to help meet the interests of clients.

Here, attendees learnt about PrintSphere and StoreFront integration with Apogee, the Agfa Eversify online publishing tool and the Apogee Packaging solution. Visitors were able to see a number of implementation case studies, as well as attend a ‘Secrets of Colour Management’ workshop.

In addition, Agfa staged a ‘tips and tricks’ session with its UK applications team and those in attendance spent time with Agfa staff, learning new functionality and tips for Apogee workflow.

Such was the success of the February gathering that later this year, Agfa will host a ‘Meet the Experts’ event where existing and prospective customers can learn about the company’s software solutions.
