Canon scores with Rugby World Cup deal

Canon has agreed to extend its sponsorship of the Rugby World Cup for the 2019 edition of the national team tournament in Japan.

The imaging solutions specialist is already a staunch supporter of rugby in Japan, though its backing of the country’s Top League club competition, and the new agreement will enhance this association with the sport.

Canon also supported the 2016 edition of the competition, which took place in England and Wales.

During the 2019 World Cup, Canon will serve as an official sponsor and provide all print and copying solutions used by the tournament organisers, as well as work with the World Rugby global governing body to deliver a range of image-related initiatives to boost fan experience.

In addition, the Canon Professional Services (CPS) team will be on site to share their imaging expertise and support professional photographers at the World Cup.
