POS specialist takes it to the competition

In an important trend that is continuing to gather momentum, B Print and Display Group has moved to diversify its already wide service offering by investing in key pieces of technology from Ricoh.

The goal of the capital spend is to strengthen its competitive position against growing numbers of commercial printers moving into the sign and display market.

The company has purchased a Ricoh Pro C9110 and Pro C7110x, the second investment for the company after acquiring a Ricoh Pro C901. The purchase means that it now joins a growing number of companies that straddle the sign and display, wide-format graphics, and commercial print markets.

The printers were purchased as a response to increased workload due to having just one machine, and increasing wage pressures for weekend overtime. The company hopes the new machines will allow them to become twice as efficient as before.

Our goal was to work with a partner who understood our capacity expectations as well as the need to future proof and create compelling extra value

“We were looking for a better balance of technology to help support our growth targets,” says Will Skelchy, managing director of B Print and Display, adding: “Our goal was to work with a partner who understood our capacity expectations as well as the need to future proof and create compelling extra value. That is what we have come to expect from Ricoh.”

The C7110x will allow B Print and Display to achieve special effects due to the printer’s fifth colour toner capability, opening more business opportunities for the company.

Stephen Palmer, director production print business at Ricoh UK and Ireland, adds: “We would like to ensure we continue to broaden our partnership by consistently delivering to ensure that B Print and Display is able to enhance client value and increase satisfaction.

“We are proud of the innovative features, high performance and durability of our production printing portfolio and importantly, how it brings business growth to our customers.”
