Something strange in your neighbourhood

To celebrate the release of the new Ghostbusters film, JCDecaux and Sony Pictures are bringing ‘something strange’ to London’s Waterloo Station.

The immersive out-of-home campaign has transformed the station with the help of 8 metre-high ‘slime poles’, and turned the commuter tunnel into a ghostly New York City using vinyl wraps and eerie audio snippets.

The most impressive feature, though, is the enormous Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, smashing through the concourse floor. Commuters can take a picture and share on Twitter using the hashtag #ghostbusterswaterloo.

I’m sure there’ll be a few WaterBOO! commuters putting on a brave face saying: ‘I ain’t afraid of no ghost’

Stacey Knight, director of JCDecaux Blue, says of the campaign: “Waterloo station is the perfect location to create memorable experiences for commuters. The team at JCDecaux had a lot of fun coming up with the creative ideas for the Ghostbusters campaign.

“A massive Stay Puft man, slime all around the station and fake news stories will no doubt deliver huge excitement and buzz around the film. I’m sure there’ll be a few WaterBOO! commuters putting on a brave face saying: ‘I ain’t afraid of no ghost’.”
