Opportunity knocked at The Print Show

Last year an envelope printing machine caught the eye of Mike Hitchman of Signs Display. He was on the look-out for a piece of kit that would help develop a new market for the Hull-based firm

Hitchen visited the Intec booth during the Print Show held in the NEC last year whilst researching for a product that could reliably print all types of envelope and especially print white onto coloured envelopes.

As well as this he wanted to print white onto transparencies and so he got chatting to Peter Swann of Intec UK and a deal was sealed.

Swann says: “We are delighted to win this new business from Signs Display, as the ColorSplash printer complements a fleet of proprietary brand digital production equipment to help the company remain at the forefront of their industry.

We saw an opportunity in the marketplace to expand our services into quality envelope printing and the CS5600 seemed by far the best machine to do the job

“We saw an opportunity in the marketplace to expand our services into quality envelope printing and the CS5600 seemed by far the best machine to do the job. The Fiery RIP was the icing on the cake of a great system.”

The ColorSplash CS5000 series fitted the bill for Hitchen as it could print envelopes along with banners–with the option to print clear toner, plus colour imaging onto media up to 450micon.

Following the show Mike ordered the Intec ColorSplash CS5600 envelope printer that includes a banner extension tray, which enables the printing of 1.3 metre long banner media. Signs Display was formed in 1992 by Mike and Celia Hitchman and services clients across the UK.
