Roland DG sets out to ‘enable’ business growth

Having the right RIP software for your business is vital in streamlining work processes to maximise efficiency, drive down costs, and guarantee quality in order to promote a competitive business proposal.

Roland DG has recently welcomed its latest RIP and print management software Roland DG VersaWorks Dual, to the field, which for the first time has the capability to process natively both PostScript and PDF format files to streamline tasks and increase efficiency.

VersaWorks Dual RIP print and management software has been developed exclusively for use with the latest Roland DG machinery, including the recently launched Soljet EJ-640 and the VersaUV LEF-300 desktop UV Printer, to complement and maximise the performance of its machines.

The advanced software can be run on four separate Roland DG devices, and is an upgrade designed for those with high turnover and products that mean the business owners need to be confident in the machine for unattended printing.

Roland VersaWorks Dual also boasts new and exciting features to improve product output and minimise inaccuracies, including embedded ICC profile support, ink level adjustment tools, proofing capabilities, error diffusion and advanced cropping, tiling, and nesting options.

The software also offers features such as the latest Adobe Postscript engine and the Roland DG Colour System Library. The advanced spot colour matching system enables Roland DG users to quickly and accurately match business logo and corporate branding colours with the correct ink colour.

With three unique libraries incorporated into the software, users are able to create customised spot colour swatch books, swatch charts or peel-and-stick swatch sheets printed from users own media. The advanced feature can ensure that even users working with rare colouring or metallic finishes are able to offer an accurate, professional match.

A predictive ink calculator built into Roland VersaWorks Dual also estimates the amount of ink needed for each job, enabling users to accurately monitor the cost of each production to ensure the highest profit margin is obtained. In addition to this, when there is not a sufficient amount of ink left in the cartridge to complete a job, Roland VersaWorks Dual notifies the user before it starts printing to avoid any interruptions during the print run.

In addition, the new Rolandprintstudio also has a battery of features to support design process, including speciality colours, such as white, gloss or metallic that can be created from CMYK data to enable users to adjust artwork for pixel to pixel registration. As well as allowing multiple users to submit to a print queue, the feature allows for quick reprints through easy access to historical job settings, saving both time and effort.
