Epson expands fine art portfolio

Strengthening its position in the competitive large-format inkjet market, Epson has revealed four new SureColor SC-P printers for the professional photo, fine art, and proofing markets—the SureColor SC-P6000, SC-P7000, SC-P8000, and SC-P9000.

“Our superior technology and know-how has always helped us produce printers that exceed our customers’ expectations,” says Martin Johns, market development manager, prographics, Epson UK.

He continues: “This new range is no exception and, with our PrecisionCore technology, customers can be assured that the results will be fantastic quality, accurate and consistent over time.”

The Precisioncore technology, a signature of Epson, delivers ‘outstanding performance and long-lasting quality’ according to the company, with precise control of dot size, shape, and placement.

For intense colour, the SureColor SC-P printers deliver with its easy-to-use wide-gamut, as well as creating neutral black and white prints that look crisp due to the advanced black and white (ABW) mode. The SC-P9000 and SC-P7000 produce a wide spectrum of colours, achieving 99 percent of the Pantone colour library.

The large-format printers are available in a choice of 24” or 44” widths, and either eight or ten colours. The devices are ideal for long print runs and come with high-capacity cartridges. The company also claims that prints on premium glossy photo paper can last up to 60 years.

The release is certain to stir up the waters of this intensely competitive market sector and sees Epson continue to pursue its stated mission of becoming ‘the number one player’ in every market segment it enters.
