Award-winning Jetrix proves a cool cucumber

London-based wide-format print provider, Willow Graphics, has won the ‘creative use of a substrate award’ at The Print, Design and Marketing Awards thanks to the use of its Jetrix KX7 direct to media UV printer.

Following a unique commission from the sub-zero cocktail bar, Icebar, in London, Willow Graphics provided reverse printed bespoke menus onto 3mm cast acrylic using layers of white ink and varnish to seal the design and allowing the menus to withstand temperatures of -5 degrees.

We are delighted that Willow Graphics have won this fantastic award, as it demonstrates their capabilities of producing distinctive large format digital printing

But that’s not all—Willow Graphics has also produced prints on ice itself, using the capabilities of the versatile flatbed. With multiple machine modifications, and with use of a specifically manufactured ice, the company can now provide ice imagery to any size and thickness.

Ben Woodruff, Jetrix UK sales manager, says: “We are delighted that Willow Graphics have won this fantastic award, as it demonstrates their capabilities of producing distinctive large format digital printing projects and it really reflects the capabilities of what the Jetrix printer series can achieve.”
