Ricoh bets on Print Show success at Ascot

The Print Show held its latest Hospitality Open Day at Ascot this week, and following the news that major industry player Ricoh has signed up for the event, organisers have put the seal of success on the event as they claim a new batch of companies have entered negotiations to exhibit at the industry’s only annual exhibition dedicated to the UK commercial print industry.

The first day of the flat season at the world’s most famous racecourse saw The Print Show staff and business leaders enjoy a day of racing and refreshments in a private corporate box. Ricoh’s marketing manager Gareth Parker gave Print Monthly an exclusive interview at the event, speaking in-depth for the first time about what drove the company to sign up to the exhibition.

Parker comments: “Ricoh has spent the last two or three years getting close to customers at small boutique events all over the UK, making sure we understand them and they equally understand us. The Print Show represents the opportunity to take this message to an audience that’s not only captivated by other providers of print solutions and technology, but equally a chance to take the message to new customers.”

I think what we are seeing now is an influx of positivity around the event and more support from the industry

Sales manager of The Print Show Luke Stoneham added: “The sales director and I have spent a number of months in talks with Ricoh, but rather than negotiations it’s been a really nice conversation about how we can get them to an event that’s more public facing. They want to be able to get in front of the clients in a great location like the NEC.

“I’m delighted that we now also have Graphtec and Presstek on board, I think what we are seeing now is an influx of positivity around the event and more support from the industry.”
