The company, which designs and produces point-of-sale displays, has purchased a Gluejet machine and a Tapejet machine, made possible by an asset-funding package from HSBC.
Managing director of Kolorcraft, Phil Findley, says: “Although we’ve always been able to guarantee great quality, automating our gluing and taping functions will drive our efficiency and service up a further notch by reducing lead times and costs, while adding strength means we can continue to push the boundaries when it comes to creating and producing stand-out concepts and in-store theatre.”
The machines are both manufactured in Germany by Bickers. Andreas Bickers, director of Bickers GmbH, comments: “The Tapejet machine is not being officially launched until the FESPA exhibition in Cologne this May, so Kolorcraft’s customers are very lucky to be benefiting now from all this technology has to offer. Theirs is currently the only machine of this type outside of France and Germany.”
Kolorcraft has previously invested £1m in two high-performance wide-format digital presses. Their new Tapejet machine brings to the company a quick application of speciality tapes, while the Gluejet machine combines hot melt and cold PVA for durable bonds.
