Metamark scores praise from industry

Car wrapping is a hot topic at the moment, and Metamark is up with the frontrunners in supplying film to sign-makers offering this service.

The company’s MetaWrap MD-X has proved extremely popular in the industry, prompting one company to speak out about why they think MD-X is currently the best product in the market.

Graham Bluett of Sign Studio based in Bramley, Surrey records his experience and difficulties in finding the right film, saying: "Wrapping has always been a more challenging application than other print and apply jobs.

"What we found with traditional wrapping film is that the adhesives are quite grabby. There's often a need when wrapping to reposition bits of the application and the interplay between grab and elongation means that you're introducing stretch where you don't want it.

“MetaWrap MD-X was something of a revelation. It's very compliant in the hand and repositions easily. With moderate pre-heating when and where it's needed—we use sixty five degrees, the material elongates in a very easily controlled fashion. We use seventy-five to eighty degrees to fix parts of the wrap into surface features and the results are completely reliable and stunning to look at.”

Bluett goes on to say how, with more reliable results and faster application times, MD-X is also the best economic choice for Sign Studio, making car wrapping easier and more profitable.

Commenting on the film’s development, Metamark’s chief executive Paul French, says: “We looked at the way the wrapping market was evolving and very quickly determined that there was a need for a material expressly designed for this challenging application, something that fitted with the market’s growth, more accessible and friendly to use.

“The uptake on MD-X has been great and validates all our research. We also like the fact it’s found a home anywhere challenging surfaces are found and partial wraps are just as popular with its users.”
