High performance wrapping

Wrap Concepts has completed a tricky wrap of a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, praising William Smith’s Arlon Performance Plus 4600LX films it used for the job.

The team at the Basildon car wrapping firm used Arlon red matte aluminium film to wrap the supercar, which turned out to be a complex application.

Managing director, John Mahoney, comments: “This wrap took several days to do as the Gallardo is quite a challenging vehicle to wrap, particularly with trim and part removal prior to starting the wrap.

“This car was also white to begin with so a lot of care has to go in to making sure the original colour isn't visible when the wrap is completed. Any wrapper will tell you white is the hardest colour to wrap over!”

4600LX is up there with the best and, because it’s a little more forgiving than some other vinyls, it speeds up fitting time

Mahoney goes on to praise Arlon wraps for difficult applications such as this, saying: “We use Arlon Performance Plus 4600LX films on a variety of cars for full and part wraps, as well as detailing of features. It’s a medium range brand and we always use cast vinyls for vehicle wraps.

“4600LX is up there with the best and, because it’s a little more forgiving than some other vinyls, it speeds up fitting time. It’s a well-regarded product and we’re more than happy to continue using it. There is also a good colour range, with new colours added quite frequently.”
