Global interest in LED UV continues to grow

While the interest in and uptake of LED UV technology is continuing to increase in Europe, a recent investment by a print company in the US shows that this trend has expanded to the worldwide market

Ohio-based West-Camp Press recently moved to strengthen its superwide-format inkjet production capabilities with the purchase of an EFI VUTEk GS3250lx Pro printer with UltraDrop technology.

The GS3250lx Pro, which became the firm’s third EFI VUTEk printer to be installed this year, will help accommodate an increasing demand for high quality inkjet graphics as part of an offering that includes offset and digital printing, graphic design, web development and marketing services.

Ed Evans, chief executive officer of West-Camp Press, comments: “We updated our fleet to include two EFI VUTEk GS5000r UV roll-to-roll printers and the new GS3250lx hybrid flatbed/roll-to-roll printer with UltraDrop, which gives us the level of quality and throughput required to support our large base of retail customers with signs and display graphics.

LED has turned out to be one of the biggest advantages the equipment offers, next to the high quality we get from UltraDrop Technology

“We were looking for the throughput and the high quality UltraDrop Technology provides, but when we saw the capabilities we could gain with 'cool cure' LED, we got very excited.

“LED has turned out to be one of the biggest advantages the equipment offers, next to the high quality we get from UltraDrop Technology.”

Frank Mallozzi, EFI's senior vice president, worldwide sales and marketing, adds: "The opportunities West-Camp is generating with our products are excellent examples of the business advantage EFI strives to provide.”
