European Wrap Star: do you have what it takes?

Europe’s best car wrappers will have the chance to put their skills to the test at Viscom Frankfurt next week as European Wrap Star returns, with glory and prizes promised to the triumphant winner.

Appearing for the sixth year in a row at Viscom, the visual communications show, experienced sign-makers and car wrappers are invited to enter the three-day, five-round intensive competition to fight for the title of European Wrap Star 2014 and to win a cache of prizes worth €150,000.

In order to ensure that the conditions are the same for all competitors, every participant will have the same car to wrap—this year a Kia Cee’d GT—and will use the same film design, which has been specially created for the competition by Berlin-based actor and artist Axel Neumann, who will be present to witness the proceedings.

The organisers stress that quality is the target to aim for, with speed of wrapping only coming into play in a tie-break

Each round will be judged by a jury of industry experts, using their keen eyes for detail seek out Europe’s greatest car wrapper. This year the judges will be German car-wrapping legend Jürgen Eidt, MR Clipart co-owner Manfred Ratajczak, Nils Kühn, who represents CFC CarFilmComponents, and Rob Ivers, the certification director of PDAA (Professional Decal Application Alliance).

The organisers stress that quality is the target to aim for, with speed of wrapping only coming into play in a tie-break. Every participant will receive a prize bundle from sponsors, with finalists receiving bundles with a value of over €5,000. The overall winner will also drive off in a Kia car for free for a limited time.

Entry costs €200, which includes hall entry for all show and event days at Viscom Frankfurt 2014, which runs from November 5th to 7th 2014.
