Hollywood flies flag for soft signage explosion

Following a substantial capital investment into M-Tex dye-sublimation printing equipment earlier in the year, sign-making firm Hollywood Monster reports it has seen its soft signage wing grow so fast it is already looking to make a further technology purchase.

“We are heavily involved in the exhibitions and events market, and a lot of our clients were asking to move from traditional PVC walls to more funky fabric walls and framing systems, as it looks a lot better aesthetically,” says Hollywood Monster’s sales director, Simon McKenzie.


He continues: “So the initial investment was made due to demand from our existing client base, which is also heavily made up of the retail sector. Especially for high-speed roll-outs in store windows we have had a lot of demand for dye-sublimation printing. This is because the graphics are easier to handle and give a perception of higher quality.”


McKenzie explains that such is the growth in demand for soft signage that the company has not had to even publicize its services to be at near capacity.

He goes onto explain that choosing the right equipment was central to the success of this new business wing: “The investment in the M-Tex kit was made because it fixates in-line, rather than printing and then needing a separate calendar unit. It also made life a lot simpler for our production team and really does work.”
