Unibox lights up Tom Dixon’s flagship store

Modular aluminium systems specialist Unibox has installed its new Ledge 105 LED edge lighting technology at the Portobello Dock flagship store of furniture and lighting designer Tom Dixon

Having only been released in April of this year at the VM Show, the technology has now been adapted to create special lightboxes at the Tom Dixon store in London.

The newly installed Ledge 105 is much larger than the initial prototypes, but Unibox said this allowed its team to stretch and test the abilities of the technology.

“Designing Ledge 105, we never imagined it would be quite this big, supporting such heavy items,” comments Unibox managing directr, Nick Wraith

“However, as a company, we’ve always strived to push product boundaries beyond the expectation of their use—and that’s exactly what we’ve done with Ledge 105 for Tom Dixon.

It’s been a fantastic first install and has helped us explore the versatility that Ledge 105 can offer any retailer, visual merchandiser or designer.

Nikki Talbot, exhibition design manager at Tom Dixon, adds: “We are delighted to have their latest innovation—the Ledge 105—newly installed in our London flagship store.

“For us it works as a sophisticated, functional retail solution that combines luminosity with luminous graphic backdrop with adjustable shelving for us to merchandise.”
