Newcastle opens new cutting-edge network

Newcastle upon Tyne has welcomed a massive investment from sign giant JCDecaux as the multinational launches digital screens across retail and rail environments, including new M-Vision, Transvision and digital 6-sheet screens.

“As the number one in digital outdoor in the UK, JCDecaux provides national scale for brands and a powerful channel for brand communication. The new screens in Newcastle will strengthen our national digital portfolio, providing even more flexible and powerful opportunities for our clients,” enthuses Spencer Berwin, managing director of sales at JCDecaux.

He adds: “Part of JCDecaux’s continued investment in digital across the UK, Newcastle follows the recent launch of digital screens in Brighton, Milton Keynes, Nottingham, and Southampton.”

One of the flagship installations will see a large-format portrait M-Vision screen at intu Eldon Square, which sees a footfall of some 700,000 consumers a week with an astonishing dwell-time of around 148 minutes. The M-Vision installation will be repeated the intu Metrocentre later in the year.

Newcastle Central Station—with a footfall of 310,000 commuters a fortnight—will also see the launch of a Transvision sheet and a number of digital 6-sheet displays.
