Nationwide Platforms commits to £24.5m investment

Powered access rental business Nationwide Platforms has moved to bolster its position in the UK market by investing around £24.5m in its hire fleet

The investment will see 700 new boom and scissor lifts entered into the fleet, replacing older units from its existing range that comprises more than 10,700 units.

Jeremy Fish, managing director of Nationwide Platforms, comments: “At Nationwide Platforms we strive to deliver the industry’s most positive customer experience.

“Our latest investment further reflects our commitment to providing a leading hire fleet across our 26 UK locations."

The majority of the investment will be spent on new diesel boom lifts and scissor lifts from Genie, with additional new equipment from MEC and Haulotte also due to enter the fleet before autumn.

In addition, around £3.5m will be spent on new units to help boost the firm’s specialist vehicle division.

This part of the investment will include both truck and van mounted platforms from Bronto, CTE, Ruthmann and Versalift.
