Sign industry supplier finds artistic inspiration

Fabrics supplier Brook International lent its support to the local community recently after providing South Craven School with a host of materials for its GCSE art students.

After being given the topic of Pop Art, Art Nouveau or Punk, students were tasked with designing and creating work that could potentially be sold on London’s famous Dover Street Market. The work had to be predominantly white and recyclable.

"The year 7 students at the school have been busy designing and stencil printing their own pump bags on the Brook Artist Canvas 300g. One of the main uses for this canvas is soft signage, display banners, exhibition graphics, and interior print. This fabric can also be printed using Latex, UV, and Dye Sub, and paper transfer technology.
The results of the students work is outstanding and Brook International wish every student Good Luck in their future careers," says Alison Town of Brook International.

To support the project, Brook also provided a selection of fabrics including Brook Woven Flag 155g, Brook Knitted Flag 115g and Brook Ripstop Polyester FR—each of which can be used outdoors, and can also be printed UV and dye sublimation paper transfer.

Brook Woven Flag 155g is most commonly used for traditional cut and sew flags while the Brook Knitted Flag 115g is predominantly used for soft signage and within the stage/theatre industry. Ripstop Polyester is mainly used for display banners and interior work.
