Supplied by I-Sub Digital, the Agfa Anapurna M1600 replaced an older Rasterprinter UV flat-bed machine, which had been in place at the firm’s Norwich site for six years. Although having only been in place a matter of month, CIM has already noted the advantages that the new device can deliver.
John Cornwell, director at CIM, explains: “The Anapurna has a roll-to-roll option which improves speed, it's easy to use and takes up a small amount of space. Our choice was based less on price and more on quality.
The new device can print four colours plus white at speeds of up to 46sq m/h onto rigid boards, roll-to-roll media and a range of other substrates up to 50mm thick. The Anapurna M1600 has already been put to use on a project that included the production of 155 display boards.

Cornwell continues: “On the Agfa we can print one display board roughly every ten minutes; on the old printer it would have been one an hour. We would have had to field that out to a trade supplier, so it's great to do that work in-house now.
"We've also purchased a cutting machine recently so combining it with the Agfa means we can take on more exhibition work. We get a lot of enquiries about recyclable boards and eco-friendly exhibition boards."
