Search for a vertical panel saw for camper vans

When Newbury-based niche vehicle firm Sterling Automotive needed a vertical panel saw they found they were priced beyond their means until they discovered Sagetech.

Having started life as a classic car restoration service provider in the 1980s, the Berkshire outfit now works on classic and modern camper vans, replacing older interiors and producing bespoke interiors.

Sterling Automotive need to save time and space at their workshop by purchasing a vertical panel saw but cost was an issue. Most saws were too expensive.

Kalvin Withers, owner of Sterling Automotive finally tracked one down at the right price in Sagetech's Zapkut ZM12 model.

“Once the ZM12 had been delivered and we'd set it up, it was amazing the difference it made,” he explains.

“It was a one-off investment, and it does everything we need—at a quarter of the price of anything else out there.”

Withers goes on to say that the Zapkut Z12 is capable of cutting two or three 8 x4 sheet of lightweight laminated German ply daily—as well as comfortably handling products such as MFC.

He explains: “We use a fine toothed blade and the edge on the cut sheet is beautifully clean—run your finger down it and you'd probably cut yourself!”
