Print Monkey swings into trade supply jungle

Shropshire-based print company Print Monkey has developed a sub-brand as a way of helping design agencies in their supply of wide-format print projects.

The firm, which provides a range wide-format print services, opted to start the Print Monkey Pro sub-brand after identifying that many agencies do not have the capability to handle long runs or specialist jobs.

To assist with the venture, Print Monkey opted to add Clarity workflow software to its already impressive production line, which includes a Mimaki JV5 wide format printer, a Mimaki CJV30-160 printer/cutter, a standalone Mimaki CG-160FX plotter and a laminator.

As a result, the firm has quickly become a key partner for number of high profile names and delivers work for a range of well-known brands—and such is the success, it has placed an order for a new rollover flatbed laminator to assist with outdoor durable jobs.

Our focus on popular product lines is proving very successful so we’ll carry on doing what we do best

Lucy Ratcliffe, who runs the Print Monkey operation, says the move fits in with the firm’s commitment to offer as wide a range of services as possible.

She adds: “We’ve developed as a company in the last few years. Whilst we originally considered supplying sports teams with their bespoke kits, we soon realised that offering a broader range of products would be more profitable and that got us into the wide-format market.

“Our focus on popular product lines is proving very successful so we’ll carry on doing what we do best.”

The firm is also looking to take on an apprentice to complete an NVQ in Digital Print with the Learn to Print Apprenticeship company as a way of further bolstering its service.
